This part of my life is called: Thankful with great people who wrote my recommendation letters that made my cry...
Hello Magdalena, Rolando y Ciriaco:
I'm glad of writing you to say hello and let you know about my progress in my studies in the United States. For seven months, I have been improving my English and adapting to the new academic environment and, as a result, I have got better in my skills and confidence with the language. I want to say thanks to all of you, once again, for all your help and support in order to get my scholarship and to make the most of the great experience of studying abroad, which was one of my dreams from my childhood (And my family too, specially my hard worker mother). To me was very important to choose all of you to write my recommendation letters, because of you well-know capacity, dedication and objectivity, and even more important, you and me got graduated from the same Alma Mater, UASD's Univesity, and not matter the well-known limitations and discrimination we have done our best (especially with my experience with the Central Bank of DR waiting them for more than 4 years). This fact is very significant to me...
Next August I'm beginning my Master Degree in Applied Economics, with two concentrations in Economic Development and Econometrics/Statistics, which programs you can see at http://www.wmich.edu/economics/. Finally, I selected this program because is the most interesting to me, taking in account that WSU's Economics Department is more focused on Agricultural Economics/ Agrobussines and Enviromental Sciences, while UCONN offers a program that last only two semesters, too short in my opinion. I'm sure that I will do my best of my experience in Michigan because is the most related to my interest in Macro, Development and Econometrics...
Well, I only wanted to say hi and let you know about my progress. I hope that everything is going OK with you, your families and work. Thanks once again...
Warm regards,
Greeting from the USA.
PD: Como ven, ya estoy mas apto para continuar mis estudios en Ingles :)
Aunque uno nunca termina de aprender y mejorar; como todo en la vida...
Saludos.
